Mélan Beauty is built on a simple belief: all style choices should be allowed to exist without judgment.

Relaxed, natural, pressed, colored, braided, heat-styled, or protected — every choice deserves a strong foundation. Mélan is developing science-led care concepts around the hair beneath the style, with textured hair as the starting point from the beginning.

Our work begins with textured hair as the template, not the exception. That means studying how curls, coils, and chemically treated strands respond to cleansing, styling, chemical services, friction, hydration, product load, and repeated manipulation — then using those insights to guide future cosmetic care systems.

Mélan Beauty is an early-stage hair science venture developing simplified, mechanism-led cosmetic concepts for textured-hair care. Our current focus is purposeful formulation, reduced unnecessary buildup, and targeted support guided by hair condition, chemical service history, and styling preference.

Current research includes early peptide-support and surface lipid-engineering concepts designed for further scientific validation, alongside broader care-system development for textured-hair needs.

Mélan’s mission is to help make textured hair a starting point for advanced cosmetic science — not an afterthought adapted from other categories.

Founded by Chanele Greene, whose background combines 22 years of textured-hair salon experience with scientific training in neuroscience, neurochemistry, genetics, and regulated cytogenetic laboratory work.
